| Personal History | Ashley Chandler was born to parents Andrew Chandler and Kelly Chandler (nee Greyson) on 1 April 2366 aboard the USS Venture (Galaxy-class). Ashley grew up hearing about her parents home world of Earth, but it was not until after her 7th birthday she had even seen her registered home world. She quickly made new friends at the school she was enrolled in and was grateful for the stability of her parents assignments. Ashley's mother, Kelly, resigned her commission in 2371 to focus on raising Ashley while still working as a part time professor of sciences and guest lecturer at Starfleet Academy. She loved spending time with her mother and school friends even when her father left Earth during service with Starfleet during the years leading up to the Dominion War. Ashley would record messages every week to send to her deployed father and was always overjoyed to receive messages in return. There were also several instances of direct communications with her father as Drew's mission permitted. Ashley lost her mother in the latter months of 2374 when Earth was attacked by the Breen. She stayed with her grandparents for several weeks before her father returned from deployment and being placed on a six month leave of absence. The loss was devastating for both her and her father, but she was always well cared for by her family. Shortly after her ninth birthday the Dominion War came to an end. Her father took an assignment at Deep Space Nine and she moved with him to the station. Rachel, her aunt, moved to Deep Space Nine to help raise Ashley. Ashley missed her mother, but was joyous over having her father in her life on a daily basis. She knew she was loved and cared for, but she could sense a sadness in her father. She now worries what will happen when her father is called back to space duty as she prepares for high school. |
