Personality & Traits
General Overview | Like both of her parental races, Paisley is intelligent, witty, and hard-working. From the Cardassian side, she gets her tenacity, bossiness, and a tendency towards excess (ie, she is a bit of a heavy drinker). From the Bajoran comes peacefulness, drive, and friendliness. She has the Cardassian eidetic memory. Unlike her fellow Cardassians, she despises conflict, and will stay away from it to the point that she'll physically leave a situation. On the other hand, she does view arguing as flirting. |

Strengths & Weaknesses | Strengths: -Intelligence -Moralistic -Brave Weaknessess: -acts like a b*ch to distract from her pain sometimes -low self-esteem -is afraid of bugs |

Ambitions | If she's going to be an Admiral by the time she's forty, she's going to need a boyfriend who's not such a complete bonehead, OK? (this is a joke; she doesn't think she'll find a partner that is willing to handle her. She can be a lot sometimes-outgoing, kind of a party girl off the clock, but also very driven and would rely on the other person to raise children, etc, because she has PLANS for her life. She's not against a relationship, just not looking really hard and lets things happen naturally. She's also bisexual so any partner of any gender is fine with her). Like anyone, Paisley just wants to live her life peacefully, and maybe move up the ranks in the Federation, just to middle management. Someday, she'd like to have a family, and maybe even go to Bajor. |

Personal History | Born on Bajor but raised on Cardassian Prime, Paisley moved around the Cardassian Empire because her father is a government official. He was a Legate in the Cardassian Navy during the Occupation of Bajora, but now serves as an Advisor to the Ruler. As such, she was raised and expected to hold a decorated military career of her own. However, because of her own idealistic morals, perhaps owing to her Bajoran mother, or to an inherent character flaw, she could not pick up arms against other species. Her mother died in childbirth, during the failed birthing of her brother, and she's never recovered from the loss, even though she's fairly certain her mother wasn't exactly a willing participant in the marriage to her father (and birth of Paisley). She has no knowledge of her mother's family on Bajor, but hopes to meet them someday. Once her father realized that she'd never be a decorated solider like himself, instead, he arranged for her to be married to another senior politician's son. That son, Malo Ruk, was a Legate by age 29. Wanting more for her life than just being a wife or a trained, mindless killer, she left the planet in the dark of night, leaving a letter for her father that she was going to Bajor to find her mother's family, that she loved him, and would see him again someday. After "procuring" a spaceship through a friend who had...connections (and maybe a little crush on her), she, instead, headed for open-air space. Being sighted by the Breen that kept a continual watch on Cardassian airspace, though, she was soon engaged in a battle of wits (and actual weapons). Using a wormhole, she was able to escape, but not until she sustained much damage to her ship. Lost in the Galaxy, she floated helplessly, unless she was spotted by the USS Revere Scout ship in the deepest throws of space, and was rescued. After the CO of the Revere determined her tale to be truthful, or at least as truthful as he believed a Cardassian could be, she was allowed to stay aboard, and was dropped off at DS9 during a refueling. From there, she hooked up with a contingency of Bajoran Starfleet officers, who took her under their wing, and she was able to learn their ways. She soon met an American Starfleet commander, a man called Jamie Taylor (USS Mercy Hospital ship), who helped her to secure an engineering job on his vessel as a civilian. Commander Taylor helped her to apply to the Starfleet Academy, using her Bajoran genealogy to justify why she isn't as war-like as her compatriots. She was accepted, and graduated last year, at the rank of Ensign. Soon, she was on the roster for several assignments, choosing this as her first "Starfleet home." Someday, she hopes to see Cdr. Taylor again, to thank him. Languages Spoken: -Cardassian -Bajoran -Vulcan |
