Where, what, why

280 words; about a 1 minute read

Mira knew she'd not be on the bridge, when they'd undock from the station. She would have already had a tactical in place for that for training purposes. Her main goal was training others on what to expect, not to expect, etc. on the ship. She was Chief of Security after all. She had to work to make sure that things would be smooth all around.

She had set up a place in one of the Cargo Bays for training, lecture, more training. It worked well usually. After that, she would be in her office answering questions from officers and assigning jobs, etc. to her department. As well as doing security evaluation after their medical evaluations would be sent to her.

Though deep in side, she held what happened as a learning experience. She wanted to vow to train these security to be smarter, vigilant, and more defensive. Prepared to save more, without being exposed. To take down the enemy, without having to do a lot of guess work. She sighed deeply, looking at a wounded soul in a small mirror on her desk. She reminded herself, why they needed to be prepared than depending on others and not knowing.

At the end of the day, She figured that she'd be fussed on by either the captain herself or whomever was to be her new commander. Mira refused. She wanted to stay where she felt she could do to learn and make better changes, do better, and be better at what she had earned. She wanted to do more to try to protect and so the destination didn't matter that much to her, until she felt confident in her department.
