To whom it may concern,

Please accept this poorly written and frankly laughable application for promotion. Our current chief sciences officer is due for promotion or transfer to a new ship, leaving Deliverance short a key leader.

I offer expertise in crew management honed by fourteen years captaining a last of her class freghter legendary for her hundreds of megatons of cargo capacity, her service from the Earth Romulan War to civilian cargo and centuries of cumulative service into the Dominion War and cleanup and salvage efforts at Wolf 359.

I offer decades of multidisciplinary sciences and practical expertise in controlled environment ecology, transporter and replicator theory, astrophysics, astronavigation, transwarp temporal theory, and astrocartography honed by my life born aboard freighters of the line that relied on such systems as the arboretum project I currently lead the construction and planning of, by your recommendation.

I offer a talent in linguistics and mathematics that borders on telepath's babel, their ability to project an understanding of their words into the minds of others, stealing the understanding of another language from those they speak with.

Finally, though my own has been burned from me leaving gaps in my capability to read the body language, emotions, and motivations of others, I offer an understanding of the categorization and application of telepathic abilities that comes from a generational, familial power.

The position of Chief Sciences Officer is one of prestige among the crew, and several of my coworkers have heard of my past, questioning my low rank, and the position I hold among the crew, despite the punishments imposed on me for my actions on the San Clemente. You know me to be a breaker of rules and a shirk of tradition, the one who questions authority and holds the title of the best fighter in the department, both by word and by fist. I may fight like a pirate, follow procedure and regulation about as well as one, but I believe I am qualified to at least apply.

I know I would not normally be eligible for any promotion for the period of one year as of three months ago, according to those very terms that Executive Officer Damian Morgan attempted to violate by promoting me to full Lieutenant. However. At the behest of my staff, I'll agree with him on this one point.
