Mission: To Boldly Go...
Location: Elly's Quarters
Timeline: MD-15

Drew walked alongside Elly down the corridor to staff officers quarters. He had an arm around her waist to keep her steady, not due to her being exceedingly drunk, but she was slightly tipsy from the alcohol she had imbibed. He was trying, without success, to not think of the first time he'd escorted this beautiful woman to quarters after their not date. The brief kiss then had been a mistake. He had been fighting the urge to kiss her all night from the moment he saw her in the witches outfit and it was becoming harder and harder to fight that urge with each step he took.

Elly was feeling...odd. Not just the buzz from the three ciders, but also she really wanted to put the moves on Drew, and she was *pretty* sure he did, too. She did not expect him to right now, in her state, though, so she was doing her best to not say anything too untoward. Instead, she kept a steady stream of chatter going.

"You should've danced with Rose; I think you hurt her feelings a little," she said. "We're supposed to be working together to build an arboretum, but I am not sure she knows what she's doing. She's good at Astrometrics, but I am the botanist. She shoots down my ideas," Elly said, a little pouty. "Anyway. Everyone looked SO good. Is Rachel dating Morgan?! Are you OK with that? He IS your XO," she said. Oof, she shouldn't have said that , probably. "I mean...just because it'd be weird. Like if Andy started dating Captain Nairut," she said, quickly. Damn it, Elly, she scolded herself. "Anyway. I hope that Ashley had a good time. She's a good kid," Elly spluttered. She wanted to bury herself in the carpet and not come out now. Someday, she'd learn when to shut up. That day wasn't today, apparently.

Some people might have found Elly's chatterbox nature annoying. Drew actually thought it was endearing. It meant he could always expect honesty. "Rose wasn't the person I wanted to dance with. Ashley and you were. Rachel dates whomever she wants and being a civilian, there's little that will cause a conflict of interest. Ashley is a wonderful young woman. Very mature for her age. One of the reasons why she is in her own quarters and not staying with me or Rachel." He glanced at Elly and almost paused walking. Part of him wanted to reach out and hold her, to give her a kiss that would not be accidental. As luck would have it, they did stop walking as a few seconds later they arrived at Elly's door. He almost looked sad to have the evening end so early. "Well, here we are. I had a lovely time. I hope we can spend another evening together soon."

Elly nodded. "Yes, I know, I just personally know I would be weird about it for a moment," she said. "But some people say I am a little bit nervous," she said. "Neurotic" was the word she'd meant. "Oh, she's by herself?" Elly asked. She hadn't realized that. "I know she's mature, but is that...safe?" She asked. Finally, they'd arrived at her quarters. "Here I am," she said. Now what? She shut her eyes a moment. What would Andy do? He would kiss the girl. Or guy, as the case may be. She leaned in slightly, hoping he'd catch her hint. She pursed her lips a little bit as she leaned in.

Drew wanted to kiss Elly. Not just kiss her, but KISS her. She wanted him to kiss her and not like the accidental kiss the last time they stood before her door. He leaned in as well and gave her the gentlest of kisses. He broke it after a moment despite his desire to kiss her longer and with more passion. He blushed as she opened her eyes. "At least this time it wasn't an accident that sent you fleeing into your quarters for safety.'

Elly wasn't really satisfied with that, though. She leaned in and kissed him back. "Yes, that's true. Why don't you come in for something non-alcoholic? At least until the room stops spinning," she said. Really. She needed to be more careful next time. Her nerves had been on edge all night, though. "If you don't mind, and if Ashley will be ok, of course," she said. She understood if he wanted to go check on her.

Drew took a deep breath and smiled. "Of course. I can stay for a bit." He followed Elly into her quarters and helped her to the couch. He stood up straight after getting her settled on the couch. "Let me get the drinks. Would you prefer water or would you prefer a lemonade?"

She let him in behind her. "Actually, maybe some tea? Green, please," she said. "Nothing in it." She liked it plain. "Excuse me a minute, please," she said, stepping towards the refresher room. She needed to make sure her things were cleaned up in there-she was pretty sure a bra or something would be out and she didn't need that embarrassment, too. Sure enough, she found some errant clothes, which she tossed into her recycler. Otherwise, it was clean and neat. She stepped back out, and found Drew again. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable," she said.

Drew had gotten them both green teas and took a seat on the couch while Elly had disappeared into the bedroom. He figured she was going to change into something more comfortable and was surprised to still see in costume, albeit, sans shoes and witches hat. He stood up and handed her one of the glasses. "Everything alright?" He extended a hand to help her sit down. "Anything you need help with?"

She shook her head. "I am ok," she said. She forgot she was still wearing her costume-it was both comfortable and cute, and also, Elly forgot important things sometimes-like various clothing pieces, or to eat. She looked down. "Maybe I should change. Do you want to use the replicator for something more comfortable? I'd offer you my pants, but I don't think they'd fit," she said.

Drew gave Elly a warm smile as he gave a slight shake of his head. He wondered for a moment if she was flirting by offering him one of her pants. It was one way of getting into her pants he thought. "Thank you but no. I'm fine." 'You are exceptionally fine', he thought.

She shrugged again. "Ok," she said. "I'll be right back." As she entered the bedroom area, she panicked slightly. What should she WEAR?? She opted for safe-a pair of well fitting sweatpants, and a plain t-shirt. She stepped into some cat shaped slippers, and then looked at herself. Her makeup would have to stay on for now; she didn't want him to wait TOO long.

Drew did decide to get a little more comfortable while Elly was changing. He shucked his boots, but remained in the rest of his pirate costume. Part of him knew he should probably go, but another part wanted to stay. He was still in the midst of that inner struggle when Elly returned and joined him on the couch.

"You look...pensive," she said. "What's on your mind, if you care to talk about it?" She said. She picked up her tea. "Thanks for the tea, again," she said.

Drew gazed into Elly's eyes. He quietly studied each and every feature of his face. He took a deep breath and released it slowly before speaking. "I am thinking that you're safely in your quarters and I should probably be going."

She nodded. "I am ok. Feel free to go. Make sure Ashley is ok."

Drew raised a finger to Elly's lips to quiet her. His expression was a mix of concern for her well-being and a desire to stay. "That's just it. I don't want to go. I want to stay and...." Drew removed his finger from her lips and kissed her again. She was truly a bewitching beauty and he felt completely under her spell...almost.

She felt him kiss her again, and she leaned into it this time. "We should...." she sighed. Not do anything. It was early and...still weird. She just nodded. "Well. Stay with me until I fall asleep, then. Then both won't feel bad when you go, because I won't know," she said. "You can just sit here. I promise. Nothing weird. Just friendly." Who was she trying to convince, anyway? Certainly not herself. Maybe.

Drew had no problem with what Elly was asking of him save one thing. "I still would like to kiss you, unless you think we should stop. Your choice. I will respect whatever you decide."

Elly smiled. "I would, too," she said, moving closer to him.

Drew was happy to have her in his lap. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into the kiss that deepened with each passing heartbeat. His hands remained in the small of her back. He felt no need to try and explore her body, despite a desire to do so. He was glad to be wearing heavy leather pants though or else she would know just how much he was enjoying their deep kisses.

As they kissed some more, Elly began to feel a little bit more than wanting to kiss. Maybe they should move this along. Didn't Andy say that that was OK? She sighed, and pulled away. "Do you want to..um...move over there?" She asked, looking towards the bedroom alcove.

Drew glanced at Elly's bedroom door for a moment, a long moment to be true. He turned back to Elly. His expression was a mix of desire and yet hesitation. He reached up and brushed an errant lock of hair from her cheek. "I want to. I...really do...want to. I think it would be to soon. You've been drinking and I don't want you to do something you might regret in the morning."

She sighed, but nodded. He was right. "Ok. Do you mind if I lie down, though? I DID drink a bit..." she said. She was starting to feel that dizzy feeling that too much alcohol caused her to feel sometimes. PLUS the fact that Drew was IN HER QUARTERS wasn't helping. She slipped out of his grasp, and headed for the bed. She wished he'd follow her-just to sleep-but she understood.

Drew got up and helped the unsteady Elly to her room. He pulled back the bed covers for her and eased her into bed. He had every intention of leaving after getting her settled in bed, but she did something he had not expected.

"Thank you," she said. She held onto his hand for a moment. Apparently, a moment longer than she'd realized.

Drew looked at her as she held his hand and he realized that he could not refuse her, even if he wanted to. He slipped into the bed and cuddled her. He would wait until she was asleep and then make his exit quietly. Staring into her eyes. He brushed a lock of hair off her cheek. He was fighting a losing battle of wills. He pulled her close and gave her a very long, very deep kiss that took his breath away.

As he pulled her close and kissed her again, she melted into him. "You don't have to stay..." she said. She did not want him to feel an iota of discomfort or that she NEEDED him to stay. She just wanted him to.

Drew looked into her eyes. He felt a connection to Elly, something he couldn't quite define. She was extraordinarily beautiful, but he had known a few beautiful women during his years at Deep Space Nine and had politely declined all of their advances. He realized this was the first time in nearly six years he was in bed with a woman. "Elly...I know. I don’t want to leave, not tonight, not ever. I'm also going to need time to...." He wasn't sure what he really wanted to say. I love you. Too soon. I want you. Too crass. He softly kissed her again. He pulled her head into his chest and gently stroked her hair.

Elly nodded. "I understand..." she said. She needed time, too. "Stay with me for a bit, then. Nothing weird. Just...lie here. Be warm," she said, kissing him, and then snuggling down. One luxury that Elly allowed herself out here in the new, scary quadrants of space was high thread count linen sheets-the only thing she sought out and spent credits on that was "silly". But she liked to be warm and comfortable, and on the odd cases she had a date over, it helped, too. That'd been awhile, but she enjoyed it herself. She figured a good nights' sleep was more important to her well being and being able to do her work than worrying about what she spent her credits on. She wanted to tell him she felt the same things that she could sense he didn't want to say, but it would be too awkward, so instead, she closed her eyes gently. Maybe Andy was right-maybe she second-guessed herself too much.

Drew gently stroked Elly's hair it was only a few minutes before her breathing indicated she had fallen asleep. He lay there and wondered if he should leave. She shifted in her sleep and snuggled even closer, one leg slid over his and her head traveled further on to his chest, effectively pinning him to the bed. He ascertained that he would not be able to move without waking her. He decided it was best to just stay the night. He matched his breathing with hers and soon he felt sleepy. He was just starting to dose off when he discovered that Elly's chattiness extended to her sleep.

--------------------------
Elly awoke with a start. Her mouth felt cotton-y and her sinuses were dry. She wracked her brain for a moment. What the hell happened? Why did she feel so bad? And what the HELL was in the bed that weighed so much? She opened her eyes. Oh, shit. Drew. The party. Oh nooo. She moved her body gently, so as not to wake him up. No wonder she felt so badly; she'd had like three drinks and she was usually a teetotaler. Oh no, did they...?? She thought hard for a moment. No. She didn't think so. Just kissing. Which wasn't much better but at least... she was about to wake him but as she gazed at him, she thought he looked too peaceful. He was sleeping hard. She smiled, and snuggled back into the bed. She didn't have to work today, so she could laze around in bed and start to feel better.

Drew was in the midst of a happy dream. It was his wedding day, an event he had waited and prepared for over an extended period of time. He and his bride had exchanged their vows and the priest was giving his final pronounce. "I know pronounce you husband and wife. Drew, you may kiss your bride." Sleeping Drew reached up and gently caressed Elly's face. His lips puckered as if to kiss her.

Elly watched him sleep, wondering what he was dreaming about. It seemed...serious but happy. So she wasn't worried. She was now sitting, cross-legged, just watching him sleep. She could get used to it, honestly. She'd quietly gotten up a bit ago, and had a glass of water, which helped her achy head and the dryness. She felt him touch her face and she kissed him gently. "What are you thinking about?" She asked him, quietly, hoping she didn't wake him up.

Dream Drew looked at his veiled bride. "I love you," he said both in his dream and for real. He lifted the veil and kissed...Elly. His eyes popped open to see Elly's eyes looking into his as she kissed him. His breath caught for a moment. The kiss broke and Drew said the first thing to come to mind. ""If I am dreaming, let me never awaken. If I am awake, let me never sleep."

She was mid-peck when Drew spoke. She stiffened. It only took her brain a moment to process what was happening-he was still in that twilight between sleep and wakefulness, and talking in his sleep. She broke the kiss, but smiled. "You're both, I am afraid," she said. "Feeling like some breakfast?" She asked him. "I won't keep you too long, but thanks for staying with me last night. How much did I drink?" She made a face and touched her head. She wanted to scream out that she loved him too but that was WAYYYYY too fast and awkward and he'd never speak to her again, and...stop it, Elly. "Or you can sleep some more. I'll send a relay down to Ashley..."

Drew smiled and gave Elly three quick kisses. "That many drinks." He was about to say more when the door chime sounded.

Ashley had been waiting on the crew deck for twenty minutes to meet her dad for their weekly 5K. When he didn't show, she asked the computer what his location was and was surprised to find out he was in Elly's quarters. She took the nearest turbolift to the officers quarters deck and rang the door chime when she arrived.

Elly looked to Drew. "Oh no!" she said, jumping to her feet. Who could be here NOW? She padded to the door, and pressed the button to open it. She smiled tightly. "Ashley!" She said. She glanced over her shoulder. Oh no.

Ashley looked Elly to see what she was looking at. It was evidently the door to Elly's bedroom. What caught her attention was Drew's boots by the couch. She looked at Elly with a curiously humorous expression. "Nice to see you Elly. Did I interrupt something important?"

Elly stepped to the side to let Ashley in. "No!" she said. "We were just talking," she said. It was true. "And sleeping. Well. Your father was," she said. "I mean, I had been earlier, but I've been up for...about an hour," she said, glancing quickly at the computer. She looked down. At least she was dressed in something that was presentable. IT would be embarrassing if she were wearing something sexy...or was nude. Ew. Focus, Elly, she told herself. "Do you want some water? I drank a bit much last night, so I was just about to have one myself," she said. She glanced at Drew, pleading with her eyes for him to save her from this awkward conversation. "Drew?" She asked. "Water? Tea?"

Drew stepped out of Elly's bedroom in his costume sans the boots and looked at Ashley. He glanced at Elly then turned back to Ashley. "This isn't what you think."

Ashley nodded her head and smiled. "I hope it is what I think actually. You walked Elly back to her quarters because you realized she had drank a little too much. You guys talked for a bit, kissed a little and then she asked you to stay and just hold her as she fell asleep." She turned to Elly with a little smile. "That about sum things up?"

Elly busied herself with the replicator. She listened to Drew tell Ashley that it was innocent and Ashley guessing. “Pretty close,” Elly said. “Are you sure you’re not half-Betazoid or something?” It was like the teenager could read minds. She handed each a glass of water and downed hers in two quick gulps.

Ashley laughed and shook her head. "Doesn't take a telepath to see that you've both been checking each other out when the other wasn't looking. So I am going to go and get my jog in and you two...decide if you want to be a couple or not." She hugged her dad and then stepped over to Elly and gave her a hug as well. She whispered in Elly's ear. "Freshly brewed coffee. Not the replicated stuff." Ashley beat a hasty retreat out the door.

Elly laughed. "I think it's a bit soon for that," she said. She watched as the girl left. "Coffee?" She asked. The only fresh brewed she knew of was down in the labs. "If you want fresh stuff, we'll have to go down to the labs or the Mess Hall, though. I need to get a coffee maker but haven't done it yet," she said. "I guess I should change. And maybe so should you. If you want to use the refresher, I don't mind..." she said.

Drew shook his head. "I appreciate the offer, but I don't have any clothes here. It would be best if I returned to my quarters to shower and change."

Elly nodded. He could use her replicator, but she did understand wanting your own things. "Alright. Should we meet or do you just want to...call it a day?" She asked.

Drew took a seat on the couch and pulled on his boots. He looked at Elly and wondered for a moment if they should take a pause to think things through individually or do as Ashley recommended and figure out where the were and where they were going or wanted to go. "Well, I don't have my kitchen set up yet, but I do have a working coffeemaker and a replicator. Would you care to come to my quarters in about 30 minutes or so for breakfast? It would give us an opportunity to talk about last night."

Elly nodded. "Sure," she said. She might as well; they'd already slept together, why not have a meal alone with him? She smiled. "I'll be there," she said. She ran through ideas in her head. A dress? Pants? What was appropriate? Was this a date or another non-date but with kissing?!

Drew stood up after getting his boots on. He walked over to Elly. He leaned down and gave her a brief kiss. He smiled as he gave her a nod. "Last night was pleasant. Thank you."

"Same," she said, blushing. She led him to the door.. "See you in a bit!" She said, before she began to rush to get ready. If she said she wasn't panicked, she was lying.
